If you are new to drumming, have prolonged time frames between periods of drumming, or are playing a more aggressive style of music than usual, and are experiencing blisters, then try this. When you get to the point where areas on the palm of your hands and fingers begin to get tender, slip on a pair of drumming or batting gloves for the rest of that day. Do this each day until calluses form, and the discomfort stops. Don’t wait until the blisters form to take action, or it will take you that much longer to heal and build up calluses.
