Your drums, cymbals, and other equipment are very expensive. Equipment stolen, or lost in a fire or natural disaster, can be very expensive to replace, so try this. Keep a current inventory of all of your gear — either written or on your computer. Take pictures of everything, and log any serial numbers. Homeowners and renters insurance policies are very inexpensive, especially in comparison with the dollar amounts that you have spent on your gear. You'll be glad that you did all of this in the event that your equipment is ever lost for any reason. Also, keep copies of your records, photos, or computer files in separate locations. It won’t do you any good if your house burns down, and your documentation goes up in flames with your gear.
